Today's topic is about OTT platforms Web series, Nudity and censorship very interesting topic.
OTT PLATFORMS
I am from the entertainment industry, working as Film maker and Creative director.
Web series are very famous nowadays. There are many OTT platform who show case many web series's everyday. Some of them s are very nice and creative. Having very interesting or unique concepts. Its delight to watch. Performances of actors is so brilliant that u just complete the whole series in one sitting. Of course the technical team behind the camera is also equally important. Without them nothing is possible. OTT platform is also equally creditable for show casing such kind of different concepts.
Now we will talk about cheap or dirty Web series[ their are many]. Few web series s are par below the level , no concept, no performance, no creativity only and only nudity and sex. Few OTT platforms are happy to show cases such kind of nudity. As a creative person iam not at all against nudity, but that nudity should very well gel in the concept and the requirement of the project and should look elegant on the screen. Nudity or sex scene should look elegant on screen not hideous.
I personally feel and my small experience of the entertainment field tells me that at the end of the day if the concept is good and that concept is been well executed [making] then that web series gets appreciation.

Basically what viewer want to get entertain. It may be by concept , by performances or by making or by comic dialogues. We can not entertain the viewer only by nudity or sex. Yes i agree to some certain point, the audience can get entertained up to some level but for longer period its difficult, cause after that movement [ scene of nudity or sex] is over from screen, viewer may loose interest from particular web series. and its bad situation for of particular OTT platforms.
ECONOMICS
OTT platform s economics works only on their subscriptions traffic, The more subscribers traffic,The more money. Any OTT platform can pay money to the producers when they have money. Then only producers will get their economics correct. Cause production house is already paid money to their actors and technical crew. Then only they can submit their web series to the OTT plat form . Of course well known OTT platforms pays some money in advance to the production houses for making. Cause they have good subscribers. They are good pay masters.
Against to that good paymasters their are bad pay master OTT platforms. such platforms don t have good subscribers so don t have good money. and after some certain period production houses will stop producing web series for particular platforms and then the subscribers will start going away from such platforms. AT the end such bad pay masters will have to shut down such their platforms. i know such platforms.
CREATIVE TEAM
Why such situation occurs, cause platform needs good content, For good content need good creative team, Team can think or looks for out of the box content. Creatives should not think only on one line of nudity or sex. Science proved that Human mind is very complex mind, Mind can get bored or loose interest very easily over the same thing. Mind needs verity of entertainment. nudity and sex can appeal up to certain period but not all the time. So lets think something different.
CENSOR
Someone ask me about censorship for the web series. For me, its not necessary to have censorship for web series, It might kill the creativity of the maker , but censorship should have in the brain and in the heart of maker. Maker should know whats the limits, and the importance of the particular scenes.
For an example nudity or sex scenes requirements. Let me mention, Iam not at all against any such kind of scenes, but i always think, is nudity or sex scenes is require in the scene, and is that nudity or sex scenes will enhance my scene and gel with that story.
